4 Reasons to Join Us for the 2014 Funeral Technology Workshop Cruise

On March 2, 2013, the Oasis of the Seas, the Royal Caribbean cruise ship which was our home-away-from-home for the previous 8 days and 7 nights, docked in Ft. Lauderdale. Slowly we walked off the ship, calling out our farewells to one another.

But, not all was doom and gloom. Happily, as we walked down the gangway, we were already making plans for next year’s Funeral Business & Technology Workshop cruise. That’s when the beautiful Allure of the Seas will be bound for the Western Caribbean ports of Labadee, Haiti, Falmouth, Jamaica; and Cozumel, Mexico with another great group of funeral professionals. With already 20 cabins booked from last years attendees, we hope that you will add to that by joining us for the 2014 Funeral Business & Technology Workshop cruise!

4 Reasons Why You Should Join Us in 2014

We’d really like to see you join us next year, and we’ve come up with four really good reasons you should drop everything and book your cabin for next year’s event, the sixth annual FrontRunner/AAMI Funeral Business Workshop & Technology Cruise.

Cruise the Blues Away

Winters here in Kingston are pretty…and pretty brutal. And the same may be true for where you live. Just getting a chance to sit in the sun, aboard ship, or off; can make all the difference in your outlook!

Maybe it’s not just the weather that’s getting you down. After all, funeral service is challenging; and funeral directors from all corners of the planet will tell you: it’s easy to get overwhelmed and burned out in this profession. Sometimes, it feels like you simply have to take some time away from the office, just to keep your sanity. What better place is there to relax, restore and refresh than with us, on board the Allure of the Seas?

Professional Development has Never Been Easier…or More Fun!

Whether your licensing requires continuing education or not, we believe it’s important to take the time to enhance your expertise and learn new skills. You’ve got to keep up, to stand out, right? That’s why we put so much into the CEU-accredited workshops each year – and (just like this year), next year’s program will feature some of the top funeral service educators around offering up to 6 CEUs. Don’t need CEUs? Sit in anyway; that way you can learn, share, and grow alongside your peers. Believe me when I say, your presence there will make all the difference–for everyone involved. Just take a look at the blog post, The Power of 30+ Funeral Directors in One Room, to read some of the great ideas shared during one of this year’s workshops. Now, let me ask…wouldn’t you like to take part in that kind of high-level brainstorming? Of course you would!

Grow Your Network of Funeral Service Colleagues

Conventions are fun. Trade shows too. But it can be hard to really connect with attendees, right? There is so much to do, so much to see; often the best you can do is a quick handshake, and an exchange of business cards.

That’s not true in this setting. Not at all. Yes, there are lots of things to do and see onboard, above and beyond the workshops. And let’s not forget about the fun you could have during the time spent off the ship, exploring. But, it’s all done in a relaxed way, leaving lots of mental space to meet new people, and make new friends–effortlessly growing your network of valuable connections.

Enjoy Exotic Ports-of-Call

What more can I say? Who doesn’t love seeing new places for the first time–or returning to a place where you’ve made memories before? In all honesty, stepping onto the warm sands of the beautiful beaches; shopping in a local marketplace, and enjoying local cuisine–that’s really what’s made each of the FrontRunner/AAMI Funeral Service & Technology Workshop Cruises I’ve attended truly memorable. See for yourself.
